How to use it
Two sprays into each nostril once a day, preferably in the morning. Once symptoms are under control you can often drop to one spray in each nostril a day. Shake before use, aim the nozzle away from the middle of the nose, and keep using it daily. It can take three to four days of continuous use to reach the full effect, so speak to us if you are no better after seven days.
Who should check with us first
Not for anyone under 18, and not for more than one month at a time without medical advice. Check with our pharmacists first if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have glaucoma or cataracts, have an untreated infection in your nose, have had recent nasal surgery, or take other steroid medicines or the HIV medicine ritonavir.
Always read the label and the leaflet.

Most people feel some relief within three to four days of daily use, which is also when the full benefit is usually reached. It is a preventer rather than an instant reliever, so start early in the season and do not stop on good days.
Yes. A steroid nasal spray and a non-drowsy antihistamine tablet work in different ways and are commonly used together for hay fever. The spray handles the blocked nose, the tablet the sneezing and itching.
Both are effective steroid nasal sprays and neither is clearly better for most people. Pirinase is once a day, which many find easier to stick to; Beconase is twice a day. If one has not worked after a week of daily use, our pharmacists can suggest switching.
