How pharmacy weight management works
Everything starts with a confidential assessment in our private consultation room. We review your weight, BMI, medical history, current medicines, and what you've tried before, because the right plan depends on why previous attempts haven't stuck, not just the number on the scales.
From there we agree a structured plan with you: realistic lifestyle changes, and prescription weight loss medication where it's clinically appropriate. You'll have regular check-ins with our pharmacists to monitor progress, manage any side effects, and adjust the plan. It's support that continues for as long as you're on treatment, not a one-off transaction.
Who qualifies for weight loss medication?
Prescription weight loss treatments aren't suitable for everyone, and they aren't a cosmetic shortcut. As a general guide, medication pathways are typically considered for adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or 27 and above with a weight-related health condition such as type 2 diabetes or high blood pressure. Your pharmacist will assess your individual situation and medical history before anything is prescribed.
If medication isn't right for you, we'll say so honestly, and we can still help with structured lifestyle support, or signpost you to NHS services that better fit your situation.
Why ongoing support beats going it alone
Weight lost through structured, supported programmes is far more likely to stay off than weight lost through willpower alone. Regular face-to-face check-ins keep you accountable, catch problems early, and give you somewhere to turn when progress stalls, which it normally does at some point.
Because we're open 7 days a week until 10pm, your reviews can fit around work rather than forcing you to take time off for appointments.

Frequently Asked Questions
No. You can contact us directly for a private consultation. NHS-funded pathways have their own eligibility criteria; we'll help you work out which route applies to you.
Completely. Consultations take place in our private room, and your information is handled with the same confidentiality as any NHS service. Nothing is discussed at the counter.
NHS access to weight loss medication is tightly restricted and usually requires referral to specialist services. Our pharmacists can assess you, explain what's realistically available on the NHS versus privately, and advise on the most appropriate route.
Through regular scheduled check-ins with your pharmacist, reviewing weight, how you're feeling on any medication, side effects, and your goals. Adjustments are made based on how you're actually responding, not a fixed script.
